Explores the audiologist's role in implantable auditory system devices. This course will present the concepts required to effectively assess and manage these devices that include cochlear anatomy/neuroanatomy, biological safety, medical evaluation, audiological evaluation/intervention, surgical aspects, implant design, mapping strategies, benefits/risks/ethical issues. Introduce mapping parameters, T & C levels, electrode balance, input dynamic range, maximum dynamic range, compliance, and pulse width.
