Explores augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) modalities and assistive technologies for individuals with significant disabilities of speaking and writing. Students acquire skills in evaluation, intervention, and prescription of AAC for diverse disability populations across the life span. Introduces students to the disorder of autism, its behavioral and communication characteristics, and considerations for assessment, intervention, and transition planning for this population.
