Explores assessment of trauma using the Detailed Assessment of Posttraumatic Stress (DAPS) instrument. Explores treatment approaches by comparing specific skill-based interventions to include: Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Spiritual, belief-based, and systemic interventions will be evaluated. Interventions for co-occurring disorders with trauma will be assessed. Implications for pharmacological treatment of PTSD will be reviewed.
