Introduces students to children and adolescent counseling. Common disorders and issues for this population will be analyzed along with an overview of evidence-based interventions, strategies, and approaches to working with children, adolescents and their parents/guardians. Focus will be on integration of parents/guardians and other interagency personnel who are directly involved with children and adolescents. Ethical and legal considerations for counselors will be emphasized.
