Description:
Examines the nature of vascular plant diseases, the biology of plant pathogens and the impact of plant diseases on society. Students will be introduced to the principles of plant pathology, including: disease and pathogen classification, modes of pathogenesis, host response to disease agents and disease management practices, which may include diseases by insects, humans or microorganisms. Students will gain practical experience in the identification of plant pathogens, methods and diagnostic techniques.
