Provides a conceptual orientation and knowledge of techniques from epidemiology as a basis for all aspects of population-based practice in advanced nursing. The epidemiological perspective is presented as a framework for assessing the well-being of populations and designing, implementing, and evaluating strategic nursing and healthcare interventions. Students will apply basic epidemiological research designs in the investigation, analysis, and proposed solutions to observed patterns of health states.
