Description:
Guides students through their personal development as they prepare for the physical and mental challenges ahead. Students will study the effects of exercise on the body and their significance to lifelong health and well-being. Emphasis will be placed on the necessity for healthy nutrition to support physical activity and further contribute to health-fitness. The knowledge will be applied through laboratory activities to measure and track physical fitness as students explore various options for a physically active lifestyle. A particular focus will be how physical activity affects the mind, contributing to mental health and academic performance. The current literature in this realm will be searched and discussed. A culminating class research project will be based on critical analysis and student interest in this area. All students will submit at least one artifact to their Honors e
