This course presents the major theories of substance use. The development and structure of substance use will be addressed. The characteristics of the normal and maladjusted personality are identified, with special concern for developmental patterns associated with substance use and addiction. Students will engage in clinical, practical, and experiential exercises that are designed to be exciting and challenging.
