Focuses on the day-to-day, oral Spanish skills needed by safety professionals. Intensive work in Spanish on vocabulary and pronunciation, and on using discourse strategies in spontaneous interpersonal speaking to negotiate meaning and respond in Spanish to specific work-related health and safety situations. These situations may include supervisor-employee, worker-worker, and safety personnel-employee interactions. Required for the Certificate in Spanish for Safety Sciences. Interdisciplinary as it is co-taught by faculty in the Departments of Foreign Languages and Safety Sciences. The Safety Sciences content is delivered in English.
