Description:
Landscape photograph rooted in the salon category of landscape painting continues to be a poignant subject matter in contemporary photograph. This advanced studio course takes an in-depth look at landscape in contemporary photography and the range of cultural concerns is explores such as: feminism, global warming, manifest destiny and white supremacy, will be investigated under the auspices of landscape theory. Students will be expected to work comfortably with wide variety of camera models, engaging in a conversation of how the camera as apparatus has influenced our cultures vision of landscape. The course will focus on camera work in the field. All post-production skills will focus on a mastery of Lightroom as the main post-production software. Students will become immersed in written theory, while they engage in their creative production processes.
