This course focuses on the role of information technology as a business enabler and covers management information systems applications, including customer relationship management systems, enterprise systems, e-commerce applications, transaction processing systems, business analytics, and emerging technologies. Students evaluate the organizational fit and suitability of business applications and interpret the interaction between information technology, customers, processes, data, infrastructure, participants, and environment in an organization. The ethical challenges of information technology and the evolving role of managment information systems in the organization, and the role and careers of MIS professionals are also covered.
