This course introduces the student to the role of the medical assistant along with providing the duties of the position. The course includes conducting accurate medical history, screenings, physical measurements, vital signs and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Patient safety through infection control, handwashing, PPE, and biohazard wastes and disposal are discussed. Accurate documentation and informatics will be discussed. 3-2-4
