This course focuses on the use of ultrasonic inspection equipment to evaluate weld joints for defects such as: porosity, tie-in, lack of penetration, and other common flaws/defects. The course includes a basic introduction to the theory and principles of ultrasound. Hands-on operation of the equipment and identification of various defects in weld joints is integrated into the theory behind this technology.
