This course will cover the basics of working in today's exciting and fast-paced logistics industry. From warehousing to shipping and distribution centers, logistics shaping the world we live and work in, and this class will help prepare students to enter this growing field. Students will spend time in both the classroom and the warehouse learning the essentials of logistics: safety and ergonomics, inventory management, procurement and receiving operations, stocking, order fulfillment, packaging, shipping and transportation, as well as material handling and equipment. Students will also receive hands- on training, practice, and certification in industrial truck and forklift operation 4 different types of lifts: sit down forklift, order picker , electric walkie pallet jack, and the high reach.
