Presents the topics of gerontology, disease of the aging, death and dying. This course discusses the psychological changes associated with dying; the anatomy and physiology of age-related changes; common medical problems associated with aging. This course is one of 16 required course modules, mandated by the PA State Board of Nursing Home Administrators, that make up the 120-hour Nursing Home Administrator certificate program for those desiring to become a nursing home administrator. This course may be taken as part of the full program or as a standalone for those individuals desiring continuing education units.
