Instructs students in the theory and practice of firearms training in order to prepare them to effectively instruct law enforcement officers. Students are taught the theories of adult learning, coaching, legal concerns, fundamentals of marksmanship, tactical concepts, and selection/preparation of course materials such as lesson plans and supporting job aids. Lastly, students prepare and deliver several lessons on which they are evaluated. Successful completion of this course allows students to be certified by the MPOETC as a department or academy firearms instructor.
