Addresses the need for officers, who have limited knowledge and experience in the collection of latent fingerprints, to receive training on the methods of lifting latents, such as powders, Ninhydrin Iodine, and silver nitrate. Cyanoacrylate and various dyes is also discussed. Other topics covered include: pattern recognition, major case printing, palm printing, cadaver printing, and electronic fingerprinting. Class time is devoted to hands-on laboratory sessions on the aforementioned procedures, where Approximately 50% of class time is allocated to experiments where officers conducting challenging latent print recoveries.
