This class will teach students the fundamentals of injection molds, the materials used to create and fill molds, the different types of molds, and the various methods used to design, test and use molds in a production process. Particular emphasis will be placed on the mold design process and how to handle inherent challenges associated with creating molds for rapid and repeatable production. As part of the design process, students will learn how to prototype and test molds as part of troubleshoot various design challenges.
