The purpose of this open challenge exam process is to identify and recognize emergency service personnel whose accomplishments in training and education meets or exceeds nationally recognized NFPA 1001 Standards for Fire Service Professional Qualifications. Prior to the test date, the student must submit an original/typed Certification Application, including all prerequisites to the Shumaker Public Safety Center; Fire Training Unit.
