This educational program will train the high school student to respond in a defensive fashion and at a safe distance, to contain a hazardous materials release and to keep it from spreading and prevent exposures. They must understand basic basic hazard and risk assessment, how to select and use proper personnel protective equipment, basic hazardous materials terms, basic control, containment and/or confinement operations with the the capabilities of the resources and PPE available, basic decontamination procedures and termination procedures.
