Provides students with an understanding of how to handle difficult conversations. This course breaks down typical interpersonal communications so students may identify three critical aspects of the timeline in any crucial conversation. Students are able to identify the core reasons people avoid difficult conversations; are taught preventive measures to build trust and create a foundation for honest/calm dialogue; explore follow-up actions that focus on resolution and continued conversation. This course is designed to allow students practice the techniques taught in the course and engage in a series of evenly-paced sessions facilitated by a highly qualified instructor in a personalized setting. In addition, this course is offered both through in-class instruction or via remote learning using Zoom technology and includes breaks and interactive practice sessions.
