Covers the fundamentals necessary to remain interconnected in a home-office setting using technology while ensuring that personal and work-related transactions remain data safe and secure. This course addresses the unique challenges working from home can present and teaches students how to identify security issues within their home office, remediate those issues and be proactive to ensure computers and wireless networks are secure. Other course topics discuss software and tools to help troubleshoot security problems including the five-step ??one-click?? process to ensure continuity of operations and device management. Students also participate in a simulated discussion centered around real-word scenario of a technology breach, Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, Cybersecurity and the importance of free vs. fee-based antivirus and malware applications. Industry-expert run course is conducted in remote or blended formats. This requirement to create and maintain a workspace in the home poses unique challenges and we all need to be vigilant in protecting not only work-related materials and data, but also personal records, financial information, online presence, and hardware capabilities.
