This course introduces students to the American criminal justice system. There will be an examination of goals, organized structures, and the occupational roles of the various criminal justice agencies (the polic, courts, and corrections). The effectiveness of these agencies in carrying out their roles in a fair and unbiased manner will be discussed. Topics to be examined include -- perspectives of justice, issues in policing, courts and corrections. Examination of career opportunities in criminal justice and related fields.
