Description:
introductory level with a specialty focus on illustration as an integral component in the design process. While strong conceptual thinking and individual artistic expression will be nurtured, understanding consumer trends, and having a comprehensive knowledge of both historical and contemporary illustration conventions will be emphasized. Students are expected to develop an increased level of conceptual, intellectual, technical sophistication in each successive level. Decisions concerning the use of effectiveness will be discussed as it relates to the content, meaning and effectiveness of their work. This course will create opportunities for print and online portfolio-based projects including but not limited to the areas of: advertising, package design, product development, UI/UX, web content, entertainment graphics, fashion graphics, surface design, and licensing.
