This course explores the history of photography by examining its origins in the early 1800s down to our day. The advancement of the technology will be explored, as well as the development of photography as an artform and as a method of visual communications. There will be an exploration of various photographic genres that developed as well as how photography impacted society through the years. Additionally, students will learn about noted photographers that shaped the field of photography, as well as pivotal photos that etched historic moments into the public consciousness.
