Students will explore the origins of French cuisine, its evolution, and its current situation in a global economy to evaluate the enduring qualities of this important aspect of French culture. This study of French food will serve as a guiding thread to learning more about history, the arts, gender roles, tourism, politics, trade, immigration, and colonialism. No knowledge of French is required.
