This course introduces pre-service teachers to best practices in creating and managing instruction in the early childhood learning environment. The course fosters quality teaching and learning through lesson development designed to connect learning theories, academic standards, subject content, the learning process, student achievement, assessment of student learning, and arrangement of the classroom environment for improved instruction. Effective strategies for classroom behavior management that promote a safe, respectful learning environment are emphasized. A 30-hour field experience provided through site-based observation or alternate video review is required. This course is aligned with NPRC Career Services Outcomes.
