PSY 305 - PSYCH FIELD/RESEARCH PRACTICUM

Institution:
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania
Subject:
Psychology
Description:
This is a supervised learning experience in an approved applied setting that may be on- or off campus. Psychology field settings are expected to include placements in human or animal service organizations. Psychology research settings are expected to include placements in academic or government institutions. Field and/or research experiences might include, but are not limited to, volunteering for a non-profit organization or government agency, observing at a church, school, or hospital, or working as a research assistant in a laboratory or other facility. This learning experience is not designed for activities related to Industrial/Organization or Clinical/Counseling services, which have existing internship courses for credit (See PSY 362 and PSY 363). Early in the semester prior to the psychology field or research experience, the student must work with a faculty supervisor to determine the expected work hours and to develop a proposal outlining the anticipated learning activities. Students will need to plan in advance to submit both a Department course proposal form and a University internship request form for approval prior to course registration.
