Description:
Introduces blueprint reading and specifications for air conditioning, heating and plumbing for residential, and commercial applications. Students learn to read basic construction drawings and recognize specifications, symbols, and information contained on HVAC construction drawings. The course provides the information necessary to read and interpret a combination of architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical plans for the sizing and installation of a variety of building equipment. It also presents students with the information necessary to use various scales and measuring devices and to recognize standard symbols and abbreviations used on building blueprints. Students also learn to read and interpret information presented on blueprints for ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, controls, and related equipment layouts. A course fee is required. Prerequisite: HVAC 103 and HVAC 109 with grade of C or higher, or permission of the coordinator.
