This course is designed to prepare students to effectively teach in middle school (4th-6th grade) language arts classrooms. Students will learn how to plan, implement, and reflect on activity-based language arts lessons that are grounded in a coherent curriculum, and that meet the developmental needs of middle level (4th-6th grade) students. Students will participate in weekly field experience in self-contained or semi-departmentalized 4th-6th grade placements.
