This course introduces the concepts and techniques of parametric feature-based 3D CAD modeling with the Dassault SOLIDWORKS software. The course will cover basic and intermediate commands and concepts to create, edit, manipulate and plot part and assembly models and drawings. Using digital prototype models of industrial, mechanical and consumer products, the student will perform rendering and analysis of design, animation, and simulation of parts and assemblies as well as interfacing with Digital Manufacturing and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. Completion of this course will prepare the student to take the SOLIDWORKS Certified User (SWCU) certification test.
