This course will focus on the methods used for quality improvement in a healthcare setting and safety measures to improve delivery of care to patients. General principles of quality improvement including, current models, developing models for improvement, along with measuring, testing, and monitoring quality improvement models will be considered. This course will include current patient safety standards along with techniques such as teamwork, communication, event analysis, cognition and critical thinking/decision making skills aimed at improving care delivery in specific settings
