An online, distance-learning workshop designed to provide physical educators as well as other individuals a complete review of current knowledge about physiological responses in children to exercise. By completing this course workshop participants will better understand the influence of body size, puberty, gender, growth, genetics, and environment on aerobic and anaerobic activity. In addition, information on the current trends in the testing of health- and sport-related components of fitness for children will be reviewed. The class sessions, or modules, will be conducted using online courseware (D2L). The format of class modules will include a mix of online lectures and discussion as well as the creation of teaching and/or research projects. Recommended for K-12 physical education teachers.
