This workshop, open to coaches or prospective coaches of any sport, is designed to develop the major areas of knowledge pertinent to the profession of coaching. The American Coaching Effectiveness Program (ACEP), dealing with sport philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, physiology, medicine, and management will be presented. Students, who desire, may take the ACEP Level I certification exam. Qualities, obligations, responsibilities, and the various roles of a coach will be discussed. Other topics will focus on sport governance, budgets, equipment management, time management, liability guidelines, nutrition, weight training, media, officials, and admissions and financial aid procedures. Recommended for educators who are coaches or prospective coaches, athletic directors, athletic trainers, and educators in the Physical Education fields.
