This workshop is designed for public school elementary and secondary teachers and administrators who seek resources for teaching about the worlds religions, staying within legal parameters established through legislative and judicial processes. The workshop content includes the basic beliefs and practices of world religions, with an emphasis on the religious groups within our local communities. Recent legal decisions affecting religious activities in public schools will be examined. Readings, discussion, use of community resource persons, and development of teaching units are included in workshop activities. Recommended for 7-12 social studies educators.
