Description:
This course is designed to provide the students with the opportunity of intensive study and understanding of their instrument through analytical and musical demonstration of works of broad stylistic range. The class will offer performance and teaching methods through discussion and listening to compositions that exemplify different idioms and forms, studying the rhythmic, melodic and harmonic characteristics of each work and considering the specific historical context. An analysis of the principles, methods and practices currently used in the teaching of each specific instrument will also be offered as part of the development of a professional performer and successful teacher. This course is repeatable for credit, including in the same semester, up to 99 times.
