This course is designed to provide the student a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of patient care encountered within respiratory practice. Topics to be discussed include: patient interview process, physical assessment of the patient, chest X-ray evaluation, EKG assessment, clinical laboratory tests, techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease, patterns of cardiopulmonary dysfunction, and arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation. The student will also initiate the physiological approach to the etiology, management, and prognosis of the various respiratory diseases
