Description:
Introduces students to recognized dental specialties. This course covers dental procedures and the role of the dental assistant within the following areas: dental public health, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral pathology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics and pharmacology. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Dental Assisting Certificate. Non-majors need permission of the Program Director. Prerequisite: DA 170, 171, 173, and 175 with grades of C or higher.
