Essential to the practice of history are the ability to think historically, familiarity with its basic sources and an understanding of past historiographical traditions. This course seeks to offer instruction in the traditions of history writing that shaped and contextualized the present historiographical tradition, as well as provide training in the execution of various methods of historical research and writing.
