This course will lead students through the history of China from the Tang through the Qing dynasties. Students will gain a greater understanding of the evolution of Chinese society during this period through a study of political, economic and social developments. This course will also provide students with and in-depth look at this area's involvement in world trade with a particular focus on the region's connection to the West.
