Description:
This course is an in depth study of the issues and process of designing Roman letterforms. The design of typefaces will be presented from both an historical and contemporary perspective. Designing letterforms for a variety of applications will be discussed. Students will develop and design a series of letterforms while considering both structure and purpose. This course may be taught either as a half semester of as a full semester course. A minimum of 6 hours of work outside of class is required per week.
