This course is designed for teachers and leaders who are interested in shaping curriculum development (K-12) and are responsible for its evaluation and/or implementation. The course focuses on standards-based systems theory, historical and contemporary issues in the development national, state, and local standards, and implementing research-based improvement plans to ensure that all students are learning. Additionally, students will focus on factors contributing to the over-representation of diverse students in special education, prevention and early intervention strategies to ensure academic growth for all students, particularly minority students, and effective inclusive instructional strategies.
