This course explores myth and ritual as they relate to theatre both in is primitive foundations and in its modern applications. The use of masks and various primary aspects of theatre and acting will be examined. The course will culminate in an informal performance, reflecting elemental acting skills as they relate to mythological and ritualistic foundations of theatre. No previous acting experience is necessary. Students taking this course for graduate credit must complete a project based on appropriate research.
