An introductory course that focuses on the transition from classical physics covered in the calculus based introductory physics sequence to contemporary physics. Topics include: Grief overview of special relativity, experimental and theoretical developments that led to the discovery of the atomic structure, early quantum mechanics, Schrodinger's equation and its application and a brief introduction to solid state physics.
