Introduces the student to the fundamental knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to function effectively in a medical office. This course focus is on areas such as, professionalism, communication skills, health care law and ethics, cultural diversity, safety in the workplace, and patient assessment skills. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Medical Assisting Certificate program. Corequisite: BIOL 111 or 121 with a grade of C or higher.
