The history of the European Crusade movement to the Levant, as it was then called. The course will not concentrate on military history, but rather on the social, cultural and political factors that led to and resulted from these expeditions. The course will consider these issues from the point of view of the several groups of people, European and West Asian, who were involved in these events.
