Through a popular music ''sound before sight'' approach, students will learn the foundation of pitches in a diatonic scale; basic rhythms and meters; intervals, major and natural minor solfege--all through informal learning techniques. As the semester progresses, notation and sight-singing will be introduced for a smooth transition into written music theory.
