Elementary Spanish 101 introduces basic written and spoken Spanish to students who have little or no previous knowledge of the language. The four fundamental aspects of language learning - comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing - are developed simultaneously. Communication skills and vocabulary are emphasized in terms of both everyday oral performance and basic reading knowledge. Aspects of Hispanic culture are introduced.
