A continuation of CHEM 101. A fundemental course for non-science majors requiring a laboratory science. Does not satisfy the requirements for Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering program students who should take CHEM 121-122. Topics covered include water and solutions; acids & bases; introduction to organic chemistry; alkanes; unsaturated hydrocarbons; lipids; carbohydrates; amino acids; nucleic acids. Laboratory covers basic techniques and illustrates principles presented in class.
