Description:
Provides algebraic background knowledge necessary for success in MAT 175 - Precalculus or MAT 181 - Applied Calculus. Studies algebraic expressions; linear and quadratic equations, functions and graphs; polynomial functions; rational functions; exponential and logarithmic functions; and systems of equations. Prerequisites: Math placement level 4 mathematics placement. Students cannot earn credit for both MAT140A and MAT140B. Not open to students who have successfully (C or better) completed MAT175, MAT181 or MAT211.
